Will Pregliasco is the store manager at Island Nautical, new to the St. Petersburg area having moved from Kentucky only a year ago. He is relatively new to the sport with several short years of lake and river racing back home. His desire to learn all things sailing and sail year-round is what brought Will to the area. In his first year in Florida, he has immersed himself as much as possible into the sailing community, competing in the Davis Island Boat of the Year series, NOOD’s regatta, Charleston Race week and completed his first offshore race from Tampa to Ft. Myers. When he’s not working at Island Nautical or beer can be racing at Davis Island he can be found at the local brewing enjoying a good IPA.
Josh started sailing when he was 8 years old in the optimist dinghy moving up to keel boats at the age of 15. He joined Doyle Sails Gulf-Coast in 2007 working in the production loft for a couple years before moving into full time sales in 2009. He has worked in the local marine industry for over 20 years doing everything from sail-making & repairs, to canvas, and rigging. Josh has gone on to be a key part of the winning teams in the 2003 US Sailing Offshore Championships, 2005 Henderson 30 North American Championships, 2006 Key West Race Week in the Melges 32, 2007 Melges 24 North Americans, Antigua Sailing week 2010-12, Cowes Week 2012, as well as many NOODS & Boat of the Year Honors in the Tampa Bay Region. He looks forward to working with you on new sails, running & Standing rigging upgrades, and deck hardware to make your racing or cruising even better.
I began with Johnson Sails in 1980. I managed the sail loft (and general soft goods departments) for 8 years. Johnson Sails was the primary supplier of factory sails to most of the sail boat builders in Florida at that time (Hunter, Irwin, Morgan, Watkins, Hutchins/Compac, Endeavour and others) consequently making us the largest sail maker in the South. I was fortunate to develop supplier relationships with many of Caribbean charter companies which provided the opportunity to sail the USVI and the BVI. I later developed and managed the wholesale division of JSI until the company was purchased by Sail Net in the 90's. During my time with Sail Net I wore several different ``hats`` including call center manager. I re-joined Island Nautical ten years ago and have primarily been involved in the manufacturing of spars and custom metal fabrication products.
